Both engine styles are Ford’s proprietary EcoBoost design, with a 3.5-liter V6 as the base engine that offers 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 option offers an increase in power and delivers an impressive 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission complements the engine, offering a range of gears that will aid with towing heavy loads. When equipped with a tow package, the Ford Expedition can tow up to 9,300 pounds.
The Ford Expedition’s acceleration rate is a peppy zero to 60 mph in around six seconds for both engine types. The V6 engine gets slightly better gas mileage, averaging around 17 mpg in city driving conditions and 23 mpg on the highway.
